High level delegation from the University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City, visited ISS on 22 and 23 March 2016 for discussions aimed at developing further long standing links between the two institutions.
The delegation met with ISS Rector, Professor Inge Hutter, Deputy Rector for Educational Affairs, Dr Freek Schiphorst, Deputy Rector Research Affairs, Professor Wil Hout, and staff from the Economics of Development (ECD) MA programme and the Economics of Development of Emerging Markets (EDEM) research programme.
Discussions included the setting up of a Double Degree MA programme, collaboration in the establishment of a PhD programme at the UEH as well as participation of certain of their staff in the regular ISS PhD programme, and the commencement of a programme of research collaboration between staff of the two institutions.
The Vietnamese delegation included; Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong, President UEH, Prof. Nguyen Trong Hoai, Vice President UEH, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Si, Dean of Graduate School, and Dr. Pham Khanh Nam, Vice Dean, School of Economics UEH.
