Database of the month: The International Bibliography of the Social Sciences (IBSS)

The International Bibliography of the Social Sciences (IBSS) is a leading research tool for the social sciences and related interdisciplinary subjects.

The database includes bibliographic references to journal articles, books, reviews and selected chapters published since 1951. The focus is mainly on the four core social science disciplines - anthropology, economics, politics and sociology - but it also covers a range of interdisciplinary subjects, such as development studies, human geography and environment, international relations and gender studies.

One of the unique benefits of IBSS is its extensive coverage of international material with over 50% of journals published outside the US or UK (see title list) and with 25% of references in languages other than English. Records include material from 100 countries and in 60 languages.
