Decolonization, technology, social enterprises. What do students think?

New podcast episode: ISS' birthday celebration special

Global ISSues is back with host Surabhi Srivastava for a third episode.

This time, Surabhi welcomes students to the microphone to voice their opinions on the discussions held during the ISS' 69th birthday celebration on 7 October 2021.

During the 69th Dies Natalis, speakers Dr Althea Rivas, Dr Arul Chib and Lisa Jordan unwrapped three contemporary topics in global development discourse: decolonizing knowledge, technology and social enterprise.

ISS researchers were present to reflect on these crucial topics, relating them to current research and teaching undertaken at ISS. At the end of the event, we reached out to our audience to ask which topics and approaches ISS should tackle in the coming years.

Host Surabhi opens up the floor for students to take part in this conversation in our Global ISSues podcast! Episode three explores students' opinions, asking what they gathered from the conversation. More importantly, she asks what students (most of whom are experienced development practitioners) feel is missing from ISS' approach to global development and social justice.
