Dutch Black Scholar Conference - Call for proposals

Black Achievement Month

We are looking for proposals for the Dutch Black Scholars' Conference to be held at the International Institute of Social Studies on 28 October 2022

This conference will provide an opportunity for presentations of original research by Black researchers.

Proposals from university researchers, independent scholars, practitioners and (master/ PhD) students are welcome.

Examples of topics

This is event is to highlight and disseminate research conducted by Black scholars in the Netherlands. Themes and topics from all disciplines are welcome and may range from environmental justice to equal energy partical information and everything in between.

Please note that your public, though academic, might not be versed in your theme. Take this into account when preparing your proposal.

Types of proposals

  • Oral presentations about your work
  • Film or video to teach, entertain or challenge
  • Panel discussion of important topics
  • Labs facilitating experimentation
  • Workshops to teach or explore a shared concern
  • Any other format which will engage the audience
