GOLLS says good bye to last Brazilian resercher

In April the last Brazilian academic visitor on a Capes-Nuffic GOLLS (Governance of Labour and Logistics for Sustainability) funding grant, Camila Ferracini Origuéla, finished her PhD period at ISS.

Camila Ferracini Origuéla is the last in this interaction of the project. Her work is on conventional and agroecological production in rural settlements in Rio Grande do Sul-Brazil and this has implicattions in understanding the process of peasant subordination to the global agro-food system and the peasant autonomy in the building of local agro-food systems.

She returns to her co-supervisor Professor Bernardo Mançano Fernandes at UNESP (São Paulo State University).

About the Governance of Labour and Logistics for Sustainability project

The GOLLS project as funded by Capes Nuffic (2013-2018) has given the ISS a rich stream of Brazilian visitors (4 per year for 4 years) from 9 Brazilian universities and organizations all dedicated to working on various aspects of the global value chain connection, and labour outcomes, between Brazil and the Netherlands - a key international trade connection.

The project has resulted in a number of seminars, papers and publications on a wide range of product and chain governence themes and will produce a book in the near future.
