Natascha Wagner and Roy Huijsmans selected to Young Erasmus Academy

International Institute of Social Studies is pleased to announce that Dr Natascha Wagner and Dr Roy Huijsmans have been selected to join the Young Erasmus Academy. Their membership commences on 1 January  2019.

The Young Erasmus Academy (YEA) is a network of young scientists that was founded in April 2013 at Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR). It has 21 members who represent a broad spectrum of scientific and scholarly disciplines and work at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

The objectives of the YEA are:

  • The formation and strengthening of a network of excellent researchers at Erasmus University Rotterdam
  • The strengthening of interdisciplinary partnerships and contacts among excellent young researchers
  • Advising the EUR Executive Board on matters relating to the academic- and research policy
  • The strengthening of the profile of the EUR within the public domain
  • Natascha Wagner is an Associate Professor at International Institute of Social Studies. Her research interests lie in the fields of microeconomics, microeconometrics, micro-development, impact evaluations, health economics (HIV/AIDS, maternal & child health), urban & rural development, network dynamics, gender roles, and female empowerment.

  • Roy Huijsmans is Associate Professor Child and Youth Studies. His areas of interest include State-child/youth relations in post-socialist contexts, rural childhood & youth and agrarian transformations, family and household studies, conceptualizing age and generation, and work and education.
