Recently ISS has welcomed a new PhD Researcher as a part of the experiment on PhD studentships, which was initiated by the Minister for Education, Culture and Science in early 2016. She is researching Fishers' movements, climate change mitigation and coverging resource justice movements, her supervisors are Prof. Dr. Saturnino (Jun) Borras and Prof. Dr. Des Gasper.Â

" I obtained my Bachelor's degree in International Development Studies from York University (Canada) and my Master's degree from ISS in 2012-2013, majoring in Agrarian and Environmental Studies. Since then, I have worked on research projects on a range of topics, including young farmers’ land access in the Global North, agricultural investment in Southeast Asia, the development of the global bioeconomy, land grabbing by EU actors, and fisheries governance. After receiving a fellowship from ISS, I started my PhD in December 2016, joining the Political Economy of Resources, Environment and Population (PER) research group. I also collaborate with the Initiatives in Critical Agrarian Studies (ICAS), which is based at ISS, and coordinate the ICAS secretariat. "
