Passing away Paul van der Wel
We received the sad news that former ISS staff member Paul van der Wel died last Monday, 27 November 2017 at the age of 83.
He worked at ISS from 1967 (in Palace Noordeinde) to 1999. For over a decade he was active in ISS' cooperation with the University of Khartoum, where several ISS staff members worked or stayed for a shorter period. Paul was a key member of the Public Policy and Administration MA programme with responsibility for Public Sector Reform.
Paul van der Wel also played a role in the initial period of our Suriname programme. We remember Paul van der Wel as a very sincere, decent and thoughtful colleague.
Our thoughts are with his wife Gunnel and other family and friends.
The funeral will be held on Saturday 2 December in Maassluis.
