Professor Shuaib Lwasa has recently been appointed part-time professor of spatial planning for urban resilience at Twente University. He joined the Faculty of Geo-information and Earth Observation (ITC) on 1 September 2023.
Professor Lwasa will work one day a week at ITC, combining this appointement with his Chair at the International Institute of Social Studies, enabling him to foster cooperation and collaboration between the two institutes
ITC is an internationally recognized leading research entity in geospatial sciences, with an emphasis on geo-information science and earth observation, focusing on problem-solving research. It is Professor Shuaib's alma mater where he spent many years collaboriating on research and capacity development in geospatial tools for urban applications.
