On 7 December, Roselle Leah Kolipano Rivera successfully defended her thesis 'Beyond access: Gender and transport justice in Davao City, Philippines'
The study brought together emerging perspectives in urban transport studies in an attempt to integrate them under the concept of transport justice.
Focusing on Davao City in the Philippines, Rivera elucidates the marginalization of the interests of low-income users, the majority of whom are women traders and workers.
