Dr. Erwin van Tuijl (PhD, Erasmus University Rotterdam) is postdoctoral researcher at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS), Erasmus University Rotterdam & at the Centre for Frugal Innovation in Africa (CFIA). He is also a visiting researcher and lecturer at the Division of Geography and Tourism, KU Leuven (Belgium). His research interests are in the fields of economic geography, development studies, and management & strategy. He has done various international comparative case studies in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the United States of America. His current research focuses on the platform economy, digital technologies, frugal innovation and regional development.
