ISS 10% Early Bird discount (EBD)

Terms and Conditions – ISS 10% Early Bird discount (EBD):

• The Early Bird discount (EBD) is 10% of the ISS MA in Development Studies tuition fee of €21,000.
• To qualify, you must be able to pay your tuition fee by 1 May.

Payment & deadline

• With the Early Bird discount, you pay 90% of the tuition fee instead of 100%.
  • Standard tuition fee: €21,000
  • Early Bird tuition fee: €18,900 (90% of €21,000), excluding additional costs.
• To be eligible, you must transfer:
  • the discounted tuition fee (or discounted remaining balance after a partial scholarship/waiver), plus
  • all additional costs* to the ISS bank account before 1 May.
• ISS will accept a few days grace period to allow for possible delays in international banking. In case the total payment (tuition + additional costs) is received too late, the Early Bird discount will not apply. 

How the discount is applied

• The Early Bird discount is applied directly: you pay the reduced amount upfront.

Eligibility

• All unconditionally admitted applicants to the MA in Development Studies are in principle eligible for the Early Bird discount. No separate application is needed.
• The EBD applies to tuition fees only (not to additional costs such as immigration fees, health insurance or living expenses).
• The discount cannot be applied to tuition that is 100% covered by a full external scholarship.

Combining EBD with ISS Partial scholarships

• You are allowed to combine the Early Bird discount with ISS Partial scholarships** and receive up to 40–50% discount of your tuition fee in total.
• Excellent Fund (40%) + Early Bird Discount: If you are granted the 40% ISS partial scholarship from the Excellent Fund and indicate you wish to make use of the Early Bird Discount, the total tuition fees will be €10,500.
• Hardship Fund (30%) + Early Bird Discount: If you are granted the 30% ISS partial scholarship from the Hardship Fund and indicate you wish to make use of the Early Bird Discount, the total tuition fees will be €12,600.
• To be eligible for this combination, the discounted remaining tuition fee + additional costs* must be transferred to the ISS bank account before 1 May.  Fee transfers can only be made after you have received an invoice with payment details from the ISS Admission Office.

Other conditions

• ISS reserves the right to cancel your Early Bird discount if you do not meet the payment conditions stated above.
