Why did you choose this major?
I chose this major because I am concerned about social exclusion. Especially when population face disasters. I believe that when disasters occur, vulnerability created due social exclusion is one of the most important issues that need to be addressed not just to understand pre-existent structures but to design successful interventions and policies in order to mitigate further risks and reduce inequalities.
How will this major help you in the future (career wise)?
The fact that all the courses in this major are developed from an intersectional perspective will give me the skills needed to create, apply and analyze policies in a broader way to transform social realities. Which will allow me to work not just in governmental institutions but also with civil society and private sector.
What aspect of your major do you really like?
The aspect I like the most about SPD Major is the interdisciplinary approach on which the programme has been structured. Sharing experiences with professionals from different fields enrich our knowledge and help us to develop networks that might benefit our further career.
