Clara George (France)
Mundus MA in Public Policy
Name: Clara George
Country: France
Background: I hold a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the University of Geneva in Switzerland. My academic background is complemented by professional experience in the field of human rights, having worked with the International Observatory for Peace, Democracy and Human Rights in Geneva, as well as with various NGOs across different countries.
Why study abroad?
I chose to study abroad to improve my language skills and get to know people from different backgrounds. I truly believe that living in a new environment is the most meaningful way to understand the world and ourselves.
Why ISS?
As a Mundus MAPP student, I had the opportunity to select from several tracks. I chose ISS because its curriculum is the most focused on development and public policy. Moreover, being located in The Hague offers unique opportunities to attend conferences, both at the university and throughout the city.
ISS is unlike any university I’ve experienced before. It’s a small, intimate academic environment that offers a personalized and student-centered approach. From accessible mental health support to affordable meals and an attentive staff, ISS truly nurtures both academic and personal growth.
What is your experience with the Mundus MAPP so far?
The Mundus MAPP program is both demanding and deeply rewarding. It has pushed me to exceed my own academic expectations, rethink theoretical frameworks, and explore new ideas. Most importantly, it has inspired me to pursue research that is meaningful and relevant to real-world challenges.
What are your future plans?
I hope to work in governmental institutions, whether in France or within the EU, and put my academic knowledge into practice in service of the public good. I see Mundus MAPP as a bridge between rigorous academic training and real-world governance.
