On 4 September 2018 a new plan for accelerating the transition to full open access for all academic output was presented by cOAlitionS. This plan is called Plan S. cOAlitionS consists of 11 research funding organisations from different European countries with the support of the European Commission including the European Research Council (ERC). NWO is representing the Netherlands.
Open Science & Open Access are buzzwords in the present day of academic publishing. Researchers/ universities are expected to fully publish in Open Access in 2020.
