Indigenous voices from Mexico - conference 27 September 2019

On 27 September 2019, the International Institute of Social Studies will host a special screening of the award-winning film “Tiempo de Lluvia” (In Times of Rain), which follows the story of Soledad, a traditional indigenous healer who grapples with the imminent departure of her grandson José, to Mexico City.

The event will also feature a panel with the film director Itandehui Jansen, the actor Nu Kahnu and the producer, Armando Bautista; as well as Genner Llanes-Ortiz, a Mayan scholar at Leiden University. The discussion will be moderated by ISS alumna Itandehui Olivera. 

The event is free and open to the public.
