Dr Barghouti is a prominent Palestinian politician and political commentator. He is also a medical doctor (cardiologist) and one of the founders of the Palestinian Medical Relief Society.
As General Secretary of the Palestinian National Initiative (Al-Mubadara), he has advocated for the so-called 'Third Way' to try and address the current, political impasse between Israel and the Palestinians. On behalf of that party he is a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council, the Parliament of the Palestinian National Authority.
And finally, he is a member of the Central Council of the Palestine Liberation Organization.
The event will be moderated by Dr Jeff Handmaker (ISS).
