Sanjay Kak’s 'Jashn-e-Azaadi' (2007) is one of the first documentaries to engage with the armed uprising against Indian rule in Kashmir. It dwells into the long-standing struggle for freedom in the Kashmir valley, a region fiercely contested by nuclear-armed India and Pakistan and has been under military occupation for decades.
